Meet the Founder

Where Sociology Meets Everyday Accessibility

I’m Ms. Melanie Berru (Xicana_Mel), as a sociologist, award-winning educator, and speaker, I teach and create to make the invisible visible and ignite the change you seek.

For more than two decades, I’ve taught across classrooms and various community spaces including, carceral spaces, bringing college into local jails and supporting diverse, system-impacted, and historically marginalized students. Education is meant to breath, to move into everyday realities.

I offer keynotes, workshops, trainings, and consultations that challenge assumptions, deepen cultural understanding, and spark action. My work is grounded in truth, courage, and a fierce love for community.

If you’re an educator, leader, or organization seeking cultural insight, justice-centered learning, or meaningful change, I’m here to walk alongside you.

Let's make a difference together.

"I know wholeheartedly that Melanie's skills and knowledge can't be locked in the college community only. So many people need her as part of their ongoing healing and survival."

Professor Berru’s impact is not limited to the people she teaches. It extends to every person who will one day interact with those individuals; their families, their workplaces, their communities. When intentional education is truly accessible for all, everyone benefits.

And that is why her work matters to all of us.
